This oolong represents one of the signature flavors of Taiwanese tea. Chi Lai is a less well-known tea region as farmers only started growing tea there around 15-20 years ago.
The tea plantation is surrounded by forests and has a lot of sunlight in the morning and fog in the afternoon which creates sweetness and thicker leaves. The soil is rich in mineral which you can feel in the taste. The buttery flavor comes from gentle roasting, and the orchid floral note comes from low oxidation. After drinking the tea, keep exhaling from the nose, you will feel the long-lasting return of sweetness, is what we call the "hui gan" (回甘)
